Argyle Gallery was established in 2000. Located in 'The Rocks', it presents a collection of all Australian and Aboriginal art and fine crafts. All works are sourced directly from artists and Aboriginal communities. Argyle Gallery is located at 21 Playfair St, The Rocks, Sydney.

17-31 Playfair Street is an example of Victorian workingmen’s terraces. It is representative of typical workers housing being built for the rental market during the mid-Victorian period in Sydney. It demonstrates clearly the stages of development of this group and the typical subdivisions patterns which occurred during the period 1875- 1883.‘Argyle Terrace’ and ‘Foundation Park’ are the first residential restoration/revitalisation project undertaken by the Sydney Cove Redevelopment Authority.
